The Way of Bodhisattva

“The Way of the Bodhisattva is a guide to cultivating the mind of enlightenment and to generating the qualities of love, compassion, generosity, and patience. It is the treasured by Buddhists of all traditions. This famous and universally loved poem for daily living has inspired many generations of Buddhists and non-Buddhists since it was first composed in the 8th century by Shantideva. “

These poems invoke special positive states of mind, moves us from suffering and conflict to happiness and peace, and gradually introduces us to the entire Mahayana Buddhist path to enlightenment. This text has been studied, practiced, and expounded upon in an unbroken tradition for centuries. Presented in the form of a personal meditation in verse, it outlines the path of the Bodhisattvas-those who renounce the peace of individual enlightenment and vow to work for the liberation of all beings and to attain Buddhahood for their sake.

We have one of the foremost scholars of Tibetan Buddhism delivering the course, His Holiness Gangri Karma Rinpoche who is an exceptional Buddhist scholar and Dharma practitioner. It is His Holiness's skill and knowledge that makes these traditional Buddhist poems from beginner level to the path of awakening all the more accessible. His unique style is suitable for those new to Buddhism and those interested in developing a much richer understanding of Buddhism.

“I had a very enjoyable lesson on Saturday. I find Shantideva answers practical questions that I am faced with in daily life, and the lesson extend and outline key points of practical importance. I struggle to ask questions because I find Shantideva’s text, and His Holiness’ explanations, are so concise that any issues that might remain are trivial or contrived.”~ Spencer
