Who is the Vajrapani Bodhisattva
Vajrapani Bodhisattva was a lay disciple of the Buddha who personally taught the Varjayana teachings. His right hand holds a vajra, which symbolizes the "solid and indestructible Bodhicitta". He is the one of the Eight Great Bodhisattvas and just as Venerable Ananda's took great responsibility in taking records of the Buddha's Mahayana teachings and passed them on to later generations, Vajrapani also took great responsibility in the Varjayana teachings he received from the Buddha and passed them on to later generations.
