Our online meditation classes

We are supporting communities where COVID-19 has a substantial impact on their life. This could be helping those who have lost loved ones or the various negative impacts the disease has had on families and individuals. Meditation and mindfulness skills and knowledge are highly beneficial for both emotional healing and mental wellbeing.

Our free meditation classes bring people together in a safe and secure environment that can increase their sense of inter-connectedness which helps to break down barriers. This space also offers a place for mutual support and respect to develop.

Even though some lockdown restrictions may gradually be lifted, life has changed irrevocably for the foreseeable future. Having access to meditation classes sooner rather than later will positively impact on individuals mental health. When we’re in a healthier place mentally, this impacts on those we interact with, hence meditation can benefit our relationships too.

You can join our online meditation class by emailing london@martsangkagyu.org

Lineage mantra transmission

As we know from history, mankind has experienced many infectious diseases, and today, COVID 19 is spreading fast causing a serious threat to human life. At these challenging times, some of our greatest Buddhist achievers passed on special mantras to help prevent all kinds of infectious diseases. His Holiness Gangri Karma Rinpoche is particularly worried and saddened that many people may contract this virus and has kindly offered to teach a special mantra what was from the great achiever Dampa Sangi. In the past this mantra has helped in preventing more than 100 diseases and hopefully it may help you and your family members.

His Holiness lead us in prayer with this special mantra for three weeks in March & April.

Support of Tibetan children

We are delighted to present an overview and share some images of the various charity work that the Martsang Kagyu organisation is involved with, and which your kind and generous donations have helped fund.

You may already be aware that in 1994, in Markham, East Tibet,His Holiness Gangri Karma Rinpoche set up a Monastery and an orphanage for children.  This facility provided not only food and shelter but also an opportunity for education and to enter monastic training.  Although the monastery was forced to close after His Holiness arrived in the West Country, the beneficial work that was started by His Holiness still continues today in Tibet, India and Taiwan.

The education of children continues to be very important, and in India where many orphaned Tibetan children now live, we offer school scholarships.  In addition we are able to provide clothing and food to them and to disadvantaged families living in India.

In East Tibet, in addition to the supply of food and clothing to disadvantaged families in need, assistance with healthcare is also given. Financial aid is given towards medical treatment and for those living in isolated villages we can also help by paying their transport fees to see a doctor.

Another aid we provide regularly is the supply and delivery of provisions to those people who have undertaken long-term retreat in the very remote isolated and mountainous areas of Tibet.

Our dedicated volunteers sort and pack the donated clothing, shoes, and books before loading the trucks for distribution to disadvantaged families in Tibet and India.
